Ingram Distillery

The story behind this whiskey producer, its distinctive ageing process and the many awards bestowed on its liquor warrant a large website – so simply click the link on this page. You’ll acquire new insights into the fascinating world of whiskey maturation and discover Ingram’s river-aged fleet.

Orrin Henry (‘Hank’) Ingram III represents the fifth generation of a family bound to commerce on the Mississippi from shipping logs in 1857 to river barges in 1938. The days of whiskey barrels being transported on the river had long passed but, like much that is sacrificed in the cause of convenience, important qualities in the whiskey were lost. Believing they could be recovered, Hank returned bourbon to the waterways with his first floating barrelhouse in 2017.

The American South lends itself to the production of exquisite whiskeys. Freezing cold winters and baking hot summers ensure that the liquid gathers a range of notes from the charred barrels. Enhancing the seasons’ effect, the river’s microclimate, its dramatic heat cycles, an exceptional humidity profile and the motion of the mighty Mississippi combine to drive a unique complexity into the final Ingram product.
